Focusing on improving and maintaining gastrointestinal health, each patient's care is managed by our impressive team of nationally recognized physicians who are all leaders in the field of gastroenterology. This is a full-time position, based in our Stephenson location. Duties include: Answering incoming calls Scheduling, canceling and rescheduling appointments Schedule maintenance, review Fill schedules Check voice mails during the day Process incoming referrals during the day Respond to referral inquiries Maintain faxes Check insurance eligibility Knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Minimal qualifications High school diploma Willingness to learn and grow with organization Ability to multitask in a high volume practice Positive attitude Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment. Performance Requirements: Skills: Ability to utilize computerized software system with strong keyboarding skills and speed. Ability to use multi-line phone system, including transferring calls and paging. Adequate hearing to answer phone and speak with patients. Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard by callers and patients. Applicants must have a working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and understand the importance of maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Abilities: Elicits appropriate information to route calls to the appropriate person. Prevents, calms, or defuses irate callers and patients by working with them to identify concerns and properly directs calls. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 85 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
