Product Engineer B/C - NSK Steering Systems America

The Product Engineer B/C Role

Design and develop steering column assemblies and intermediate shafts to meet customer requirements. Utilize standard EPS system designs to meet customer requirements. Ensure that manufacturability input from supplier and internal processes are considered during the design process. Supports design issues for customers, internal manufacturing, and suppliers. Fully supports the NPDS process.

Responsibilities 

• Analyzes design inputs to determine feasibility for indented application. 
• Understands and applies appropriate customer, internal, federal, and industrial standards to designs. 
• Maintains understanding of in-house, supplier, and customer manufacturing processes to ensure design compatibility.
• Prepares design specifications for each application. 
• Conducts design reviews during product development (customer, internal, supplier). 
• Issues appropriate design documents to support program development (APQP or NPDS) activities. 
• Coordinates required development, sample builds, and validation testing of design. 
• Provides design support to customers, suppliers, and in-house departments. 
• Provides VA/VE ideas to support cost targets. 

Qualifications

• This job requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and less than 1 years of position-related experience; preferably 1-2 years of position-related experience.
