Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized patient care for post-acute cardiovascular, vascular, GI bleed, and DKA patients in a cardiac stepdown unit. The RN supervises closely monitored patients, manages titratable drips, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Monitor and assess post-MI, ADHF, and vascular patients with acute conditions.
  
  
• 
  Titrate and manage drips including Nitroglycerine, Neo, and Cardene according to physician orders.
  
  
• 
  Read and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with charge nurses and house supervisors to coordinate patient care.
  
  
• 
  Document patient progress accurately and maintain compliance with unit protocols.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to patient alerts and escalate issues as needed.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  
  
• 
  ACLS and BLS certifications required.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated experience in stepdown, telemetry, or ICU settings with acute cardiovascular patients.
  
  
• 
  Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to titrate medication drips.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work independently, with excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
  
  
• 
  Knowledge of telemetry interpretation and cardiovascular care protocols.
