Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will maintain the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, ensuring compliance with safety and care standards throughout the unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and manage direct patient care by utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, effectively utilizing problem-solving techniques.
• Contribute positively to the functioning of the unit, creating an efficient and supportive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibility when requested and identify opportunities for professional growth through continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
