Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer will support manufacturing and quality operations by managing nonconformances, investigating and processing potential customer complaints, coordinating return material authorizations (RMAs) with third-party sorting companies, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions, updating production work instructions and control plans, and preparing and submitting Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
Responsibilities
- Support the quality team in identifying, documenting, and resolving nonconformances in production and incoming materials.
- Investigate and process potential customer complaints, ensuring timely and thorough follow-up and resolution.
- Issue RMAs and coordinate activities with third-party sorting companies to manage suspect or nonconforming product.
- Lead root cause analysis activities to determine underlying issues affecting product quality and process performance.
- Develop, implement, and track corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Update and maintain production work instructions to reflect current processes, quality requirements, and best practices.
- Review and revise control plans to ensure effective monitoring and control of critical product and process characteristics.
- Prepare, compile, and submit PPAP documentation in accordance with customer and industry requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, production, and quality to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure quality engineering activities align with relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
Essential Skills
- Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience with AS9100 quality standards.
- Proficiency in PPAP preparation and submission, with 5+ years of experience working with PPAPs.
- Expertise in root cause analysis techniques, with 5+ years of experience leading investigations.
- 5+ years of experience managing and resolving nonconformances.
- 5+ years of experience developing and implementing corrective action plans.
- 5+ years of experience updating and maintaining production work instructions.
- 5+ years of experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to coordinate RMAs and work effectively with third-party sorting companies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on quality and process improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering.
- Familiarity with control plans and their role in quality assurance.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications using GD&T.
- Experience supporting quality activities in automotive and related industries.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation and reporting.
Work Environment
This role supports projects primarily in the automotive sector as well as additional industries, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams in a manufacturing-focused environment. The Quality Engineer will engage with customer-facing quality processes, third-party sorting partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure products meet stringent quality and industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
