Graduate Housing Assistant

Essential Functions Administrative Support Provide general central office support, including answering phones, assisting walk-ins. Monitor and respond to inquiries made to the department’s email accounts, including the main departmental and housing assignments accounts. Utilize departmental software, including StarRez, to accurately respond to and document inquiries. Assist the Office Coordinator with the timely completion of projects and assignments related to front desk and departmental operations. Review the departmental website for information and editorial needs and assist with departmental communications. Customer Relations Triage communication and concerns from including but not limited to, students, families, and campus partners, de-escalating and referring as appropriate. Refer students and families to appropriate campus partners and resources. Review external requests for marketing within residential spaces, such as flyers, door hangers, etc. Departmental Duties Attend events and programs sponsored by the department and/or the Division of Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence, including those that periodically occur on weekends and evenings. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Familiarity and proficiency with housing software systems, such as StarRez. Attention to detail, with a project management approach and a focus on time management. Understanding of Housing operations, processes, and front desk operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service and conflict management skills Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, along with working with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Actively enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Denver Preferred Qualifications Previous front desk operations, housing experience This is a standard office environment. Unexpected interruptions occur often Stress levels are moderate to high. The noise level is quiet to moderate. Physical Activities Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
