Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN)

Job Description

The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN) performs critical diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions in a clinical setting. This role involves preparing patients for procedures, ensuring equipment functionality, monitoring readouts during procedures, and assisting in lab analysis and data interpretation. The EP RN plays a vital role in patient care by supporting physicians during pacing implementations and the installation of permanent cardiac devices.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end patient preparation for electrophysiology studies and interventions.
• Ensure all equipment and instrumentation is operational and ready before procedures.
• Monitor procedure readouts and alert the physician to any issues encountered.
• Assist with device implanations and provide necessary support during procedures.
• Maintain fluids for ablation catheters and assist with ablators.
• Document patient care and procedural data accurately using Epic.
• Assist anesthesia and maintain patient focus throughout procedures.

Schedule

This position is structured for 3x12 hour shifts primarily during the day, including some late evenings and holidays, but currently does not require weekend shifts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid New York RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant nursing role.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficient in moderate sedation practices.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
