THERAPIST (LICENSED)

Therapist, Full Time (Adult/Adolescent) Therapists conduct therapeutic services for residents, including counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups. They interview and develop psychological histories, assess therapeutic needs, develop treatment objectives, and provide monthly treatment summaries. Therapists act as the residents’ primary contacts and advocates, while serving as liaisons with outside agencies to coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and family. Essential Job Duties Conduct individual psychotherapy sessions with residents in a weekly caseload. Conduct general psychotherapy sessions with residents’ in‑group caseload at least four times per week and determine appropriate group interventions. Conduct specialized groups as assigned. Establish rapport, systematically gather data, determine client readiness, analyze data, and set treatment recommendations. Coordinate with treatment team, family and residents in family caseload and implement discharge planning. Understand common psychiatric diagnoses and apply appropriate intervention techniques. Document sessions in accordance with facility policy. Evaluate age‑specific behaviors, motor skills, and psychological norms, and adapt approach to patients’ psychosocial development. Qualifications Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, or related field from an accredited institution. One year of direct clinical experience in family, individual and group therapy with children and/or adolescents. Training in specialized modalities (abuse, sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, vocational, play, art, relaxation therapy) is required as applicable. Current Florida license or certification: LCSW, LMFT, LMFTI, LMHC or LMHCI. Skills: clear verbal and written communication for documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration; knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics; ability to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective strategies. Physical requirements: minimal; may require response to crisis intervention.
