Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in hospice care License: RN Licensed in the state Certifications: BLS, Driver's License required Must-Have: Nursing skill set to care for common hospice diagnoses Description: This assignment involves providing hospice care to patients in their homes. The work shift consists of four 10-hour days. The office census averages between 85-90 patients. You will care for patients with oncology diagnoses, dementia/Alzheimer's, end-stage CHF/COPD, and end-stage neurological conditions. The average patient ratio for case managers ranges from 15 to 20 patients. A valid driver's license is required, along with the use of a personal vehicle for transportation between patients' homes. Support will be provided by the scheduling and clinical managers, as well as a lead support team. You may be asked to support other agency locations if the census is low. The rotating on-call requirement is typically once or twice a month, covering overnight shifts from 5 PM to 8 AM. Holiday work will be required if the assignment aligns with major holidays. Scrubs or business casual attire is acceptable for this role.
