Job Title: Nursing Administration Profession: Nursing Specialty: Nursing Administration Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 5+ years of Dialysis experience License: Active nursing license Certifications: Required: BLS Must-Have: Experience with Fresenius T or K machines, EPIC experience, inpatient acute dialysis experience, ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips Description: This position involves caring for Hemodialysis patients. The facility has 6 dialysis bays. Patient ratios are 1:2 in the dialysis unit and 1:1 in the ICU. The charge nurse may take patient assignments. Phlebotomy support is available. An IV/VAT team is available for hard sticks, PICC lines, and midlines. A resource nurse is available at night and floats between units. Respiratory therapy is in-house. Hospitalists are in-house. Occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy are available during the week. The charting system used is EPIC, which is required for this role. Alaris and Pyxis equipment are also utilized. Staff may need to travel to the ICU to dialyze patients. Scheduling starts at 0700 with a weekend rotation every other Saturday. Time off requests will be approved by management. Holiday expectations include working every other holiday. Staff will be on call for 2 shifts per week from 0730 to 1900 and 1 Sunday per month. A 30-minute response time is expected for on-call shifts. Block scheduling will not be accommodated. Scrubs will be navy in color. No artificial fingernails or extenders are allowed while providing direct patient care. Natural nail tips should be kept less than ¼ inch long.
