Night Shift Maintenance Technician

Schedule: 12-Hour -- 2/2/3 Rotating Schedule -- 5:45pm-6:15am Job Purpose The maintenance technician installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs machinery/equipment, physical structures, and pneumatic/electrical systems in the facility. Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for working with outside contractors who are called in to do repairs
- Conduct minor maintenance of equipment.
- Layout, install, adjust, and maintain a variety of electrical equipment (i.e. wiring, motors,
- switches, and switchboards?
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and electrical mechanisms.
- Diagnose and remedy any electrical trouble quickly to avoid shutdowns.
- Diagnose and remedy machinery issues to determine the necessary repair plan
- Troubleshoot potential equipment problems before machinery incurs additional expenses or production downtime.
- Inspect machinery at regular intervals and execute regular PMs on equipment.
- Perform repair of machinery under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment as necessary.
- Perform other assigned tasks as directed by management.
- Associate degree in a technical discipline; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work from drawings, manufacturer specifications, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to use common precision measurement gages and equipment.
- Proven knowledge of two or more specific maintenance trades such as electrical, mechanical, etc.
- Technical knowledge of automated production machine equipment and maintenance required.
- Experience with slitting and coating process preferable.
- Must be capable of working flexible hours to accommodate 24/7 manufacturing operations, including weekends, and on-call requirements.
- The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to work independently and take appropriate corrective action when minor problems arise.
- Must be able to stand/walk for 12 hours.
- Must be able to push/pull/ lift at least 45 lbs. individually and 50 lbs. with the help of a team member.
- The employee is frequently required to grasp, walk, bend, reach, squat, twist, and rotate the body.
- The employee may have to reach in odd position and/or lie down.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to use, handle, and manipulate items and materials, including hazardous materials, with proper material handling equipment/tools.
- Must complete 24/40-hour HazWoper Training and be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection.
- Physically able to pass spirometry exam for test fitting of respiratory equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE (including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc.), hearing protection, ANSI-approved footwear, and others as required.) in any manufacturing area.
- Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area.
