Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position. This unit specializes in cardiac care, providing acute and intermediate monitoring and treatment. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience in a facility of similar size and be comfortable managing complex cardiac patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a cardiac population in a 28-bed PCU/IMCU setting.
• Monitor patients with various cardiac conditions, including STEMI and NSTEMI.
• Administer and manage cardiac drips such as Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors.
• Respond to changes in patient condition, and provide appropriate interventions.
• May also be assigned to telemetry beds with lower acuity levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar environment.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Previous experience with cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring preferred.

Schedule

This position involves a night shift, following a 12-hour work schedule of 3 days a week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
