Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Accounting Director is responsible for the Operations accounting of NA, to include, maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Company's financial results, and ensure that reported results are timely and comply with U.S. GAAP, local and regional requirements, legal mandates, and internal policies and controls. The Director, Manufacturing Accounting will carry out these responsibilities with exemplary leadership characteristics, building relationships and working collaboratively in a matrixed environment, and with constant focus on the latest technologies and process design to drive a lean and cost-effective accounting function.

Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesControllership Duties:
- Establishment of, and continuous evolution of, the NA Operations Accounting team responsible for Record to Report (RTR) processes and procedures related to NA Operations functions, including but not limited to Inventory/E&O, Cap Variance, Std. Cost Oversight, Accruals/Reclasses, and Plant Accounting.
- Review and evaluate NA Operations Accounting team performance and structure for optimal efficiency and effectiveness while delivering value added accounting and controls support for Operations functions across the enterprise.
- Foster continuous improvement of the Record to Report (RTR) process and procedures related to the NA Operations functions, including standardization, centralization, acceleration, automation, harmonization of data for consistent processing and reporting, and identification and implementation of new tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and costs in collaboration with shared services teams.
- Oversee the team directly responsible for NA Operations functions RTR process deliverables, including the financial close, account reconciliation and reporting processes.
- Responsible for the NA Operations financial control environment ensuring internal controls and procedures are effective, cost efficient and in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act and other local requirements.
- Support integration teams for newly acquired businesses operating in NA.
- Ensure oversight and subject matter expertise is applied to the execution of the more critical, complex and/or confidential topics of accounting and compliance related to Operations functions, in accordance with US GAAP, internal policies/procedures and/or statutory requirements. Collaborate with Corporate Technical Accounting as needed.
- Respond to deliverables and queries as required by internal or external auditors for segment or region financial statement audits and control testing.
- Work closely with all business units and other teams to continually refine processes and handovers with NA Operations Accounting.
- Provide guidance to all Operations functional areas for business units in the North America region, to eliminate waste and drive profitability.
- Maintain awareness of process trends and leading practices in the marketplace to inform strategic direction and process enhancements. Participate in the discovery and implementation of new, innovative methods to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and generate cost/expense savings.
- Support ad hoc requests and special projects.
2. Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead employees through effective hiring, orientation, training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Provide ongoing recognition, feedback, and development, holding employees accountable for success.
- Identify and mentor future organizational leaders.
- Provide direction, evaluate, and approve recommendations to ensure appropriate resources are provided to employees.
- Provide direction, evaluate, and approve a staffing plan that meets both customer expectations and financial constraints.

- Lead direct reports in the execution of strategies and long-range goals. Implement infrastructure and required changes to supporting systems in North America.
- Ensure solutions to business challenges are implemented.
- Foster an accountable environment of goal setting and achievement.
- Proactively partner with BU Operations Finance to foster strong collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- CPA preferred.
- 10+ years related experience required. Minimum 7 years in a leadership position.
- Sense of urgency, speed, action, and courage.

- Skilled at building collaborative and productive engagement with all levels in the organization, all divisions, all regions, all other functions.

- Excellent working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of SAP preferred.
