Grants Accountant

A well-established nonprofit based in Brooklyn is seeking a Grant Accountant to join their finance team.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and post journal entries; analyze general ledger activity
- Monitor grant expenditures against approved budgets and funding agreements
- Prepare and manage grant budgets, invoices, financial reports, and workpapers per funder deadlines
- Review and approve accounts payable vouchers for grant-funded programs
- Support internal and external audits with documentation and reconciliations
- Analyze budget variances and financial data to identify trends and risks
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in grants accounting
- Experience managing fiscal requirements of NYC, NYS, federal, and private grants
- Sage Intacct experience a plus, not required
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Strong communicator, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Hybrid: 3 days in-office
