JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Food Service Utility in Clemmons .


Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.


Responsibilities of a Food Service Utility includes :

• Sweeps and mops floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements.
• Washes and sanitizes/disinfects worktables, walls, refrigerators, and all other food preparation surfaces, as assigned.
• Removes trash and places in designated area. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, according to department need and complying with safety procedures.
• May assist with dishwashing.
• Attend and participate in department meetings and staff development/training programs, as appropriate.
• Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
• Follows HACCP guidelines and company policies and procedures to ensure quality and safety of food supply. This includes ensuring that cleanliness is maintained in assigned areas.
• Adheres to facility and company policies regarding confidentiality and patients' rights.
• May occasionally assist with breaking down, loading, or washing small-wares and/or dishes between meal services.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements of a Food Service Utility:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential job functions.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation and maintenance instructions. Ability to comprehend oral instructions in English. Ability to write simple correspondence.

M athematical Skills:


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills:

Ability to use a tablet and computer using client and/or company communication and meal tracking systems.

Reasoning Ability:

Capacity to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions given in written or oral form.

Physical Demands:


The associate is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, taste, and smell. The associate is regularly required to talk, hear, and see; maneuver around people and objects; use hands to finger, handle, and/or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The associate must regularly lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds; must frequently lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds; must occasionally lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds.


Vision requirements include close vision, color differentiation, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

While performing job duties, the associate is frequently exposed to wet and/or slippery surfaces. Additionally, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Associates are required to deliver trays to patient rooms, which may include isolation rooms where additional safety precautions are required.
