We seek talented, passionate, and committed engineers, technologists, and business leaders to join us.Job Summary:Server product team in Supermicro is seeking talented Sr. System Engineer who can lead the technical collateral development of in-house multi-node server system products. Develop Supermicro’s next-gen platforms, OCP based solutions with Multi-Node Architecture. You will be a person who is independent with leadership to drive the technical development and with excellent communication skills. Hands-on experience with server hardware and software is needed. Knowledge of server hardware architecture is also required (CPU, Motherboard, Memory, Storage, Networking, GPU, PCIe, SATA, and SAS protocol). This individual will also be the go-to person for product managers and system engineers to be the subject of matter expert in designing, implementing, testing for data center and enterprise customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):• Work with product PM to define System Specification and participating/handling the system development process/schedule, from concept through launch even EOL, ensuring timely delivery and quality.• Cross-Functional Project Work: Engage with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Component Managers, Sales, and Lab, on assigned projects to ensure cohesive development and implementation.• Server solutions hands on and lab activities: o Communicate with lab mangers and testers for making all testing meeting system specification. o Parts apply and systems assembly (CPU, Motherboard, Memory, Storage, Networking, GPU and drive). o Root cause diagnosis: identify and analyze the root cause of system failures, isolating specific components or failure nodes. And work with RD for figuring out the root cause and implement the short-term/long-term solution.• Experiences in internal cable design spec and process.• Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and help production to solve any system level issues.Qualifications:• Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years server production related working experience.• Strong knowledge in server architecture and hardware (CPU, Motherboard, Memory, Storage, Networking, GPU, PCIe, SATA, and SAS protocols) even in OS concept.• Strong sense of teamwork and good team player, strong communication skills• Knowledge in system configuration, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, validation and reviewing performance benchmarking.• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for hardware installation• Familiar with Intel/AMD platform, HPC, vSAN is plusPlease note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.Salary Range$137,000 - $156,000The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
