Employment Type Staff Internal Job Category Exempt (Staff) Full-Time Department Student Success & Flourishing Hours 37.5 The Student Success & Flourishing (SSF) Coordinator serves as a dedicated advocate and resource for student success at the Academic Flourishing Center, providing proactive outreach, programming, and individualized support to promote student retention, re-enrollment, and overall flourishing. This role focuses primarily on high-touch engagement with first-generation students, transfer students, at-risk students considering withdrawal, and those seeking to re-enroll after a leave of absence. The SSF Coordinator facilitates strategic communication and marketing initiatives through Bruin Connect and Marketing Cloud, develops and executes student success programming, and serves as a pre-advising resource to connect students with appropriate academic, financial, and personal support services. A secondary responsibility encompasses cross-functional Belmont Central administrative support, ensuring seamless coordination of student services, registrations, and record transactions. Primary position responsibilities: Proactive Student Outreach and Early Intervention Monitor early alerts, registration status, engagement indicators, and other student success data to identify students who may need support. Conduct timely outreach by phone, email, text, and in-person meetings. Assess student needs and determine appropriate next steps, referrals, or interventions. Document outreach, student concerns, action steps, and outcomes in Bruin Connect or other student success systems. Case Management and Resource Coordination Provide individualized support to students experiencing academic, financial, personal, social, or wellness-related barriers. Develop coordinated support plans in partnership with academic departments, GPS, Student Financial Services, Registrar, Student Formation, Counseling Services, and other campus partners. Connect students with appropriate campus and community resources. Monitor follow-up needs and help ensure continuity of support. Registration, Re-Enrollment, and Persistence Support Coordinate outreach to non-registered, late-admit, stop-out, and re-enrolling students. Help students navigate registration, administrative processes, holds, and enrollment-related barriers. Collaborate with campus partners to promote timely registration, continued enrollment, and progress toward degree completion. Coordinate withdrawal intervention by helping students identify alternatives and connect with appropriate resources. Student Success Communication and Engagement Support Utilize Bruin Connect to develop and execute targeted student success communications and journeys related to registration, re-enrollment, early alerts, transition programs, and persistence initiatives. Participate in student-facing events such as orientation, preview days, welcome programs, and other engagement activities. Represent the Academic Flourishing Center as a knowledgeable point of connection for students, families, faculty, and staff. Reporting, Continuous Improvement, and Collaboration Track outreach activity, student outcomes, trends, and recurring barriers. Share relevant information with supervisors and campus partners to support continuous improvement of student success processes. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Required Education Bachelor's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, social work, or related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. 3+ years in a directly related student-facing role may substitute for required education. Required Experience 1-3 years experience in higher education advising, student success/retention, admissions, or a comparable student-facing role is required. 4-6 years experience is preferred. Salesforce/CRM administration certification; ASIST or similar student-support/crisis-response training is preferred.
