ASR Group® companies also produce and market Tellus®, a single-use, compostable tableware and foodservice product made from plant fibers, including sugarcane.OverviewThe Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating flexographic printing press to print designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic film, paper, and nonabsorbent stock. This position is for 2nd shift. Wide Web CI Flexographic Print Experience Required.Detailed Roles & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for reading and interpreting job orders, identifying any possible errors, and setting up equipment accordinglyFacilitates print press process from start to finishResponsible for changing plates and/or materials in between ordersMaintains quality by performing all required Quality Control inspections prior to production and at assigned inspection points throughout the process.Responsible for cleaning machines according to specificationsPerforms light maintenance, supply inventory, when necessarySafely operates Material handling Equipment (Powered Industrial Trucks) to stage materialsSafely, efficiently, and effectively operate assigned press, adhering to all customer specifications, while monitoring quality, production, and waste.Monitor and maintain ink pumps, make necessary press adjustments, and troubleshoot and resolve printing-related issues.Make press adjustments as required.Complete the necessary Quality checksComplete shingle board and proper sampling and retain proceduresMonitor all quality aspects of the print production process.Effectively monitor the colors on the printed rolls.Ensure all required quality data is properly documented.Troubleshoot and solve printing-related issues.Keep the work area clean and organized.Work scheduled shifts and overtime.Attend all meetings as required.Any other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.Work ExperiencesExperience independently operating flexographic or similar printer in fast paced printing operationDemonstrated ability to read measurements in both standard and metric unitsProven ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs.Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicateProven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.Strong technical aptitude with experience in manufacturing.Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredOne year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferredEssential Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes)Microsoft office and PC skillsStrong organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsResults-oriented, process improvement focused.Ability to work cross functionally to achieve outstanding results.Highly organized, self-starter that can work with little direct supervision.Able to regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Shift2nd shiftRate$24.20-33 hourlyWe are an equal opportunity employer.
