Job Description: The Center Medical Director leads the clinical team at an Oak Street Health center, ensuring high‑quality patient care and a supportive work environment. The role includes 80% clinical practice and 20% administrative responsibilities, serving as a mentor, coach, and strategic partner to providers.
Core Responsibilities
- Organizational Strategy: Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Outreach Manager/Director to implement OSH strategic initiatives, support organizational objectives, and relay regional priorities to the center.
- Provider Management: Coordinate and lead onboarding of new providers, model excellent medical care, implement care protocols, conduct performance reviews, and address metrics shortfalls.
- Clinical Care Quality: Ensure evidence‑based care, apply Oak Street’s clinical guidelines, support preventive care, and educate providers on the value‑based care model.
- Leadership & Coaching: Create a coaching culture, conduct performance reviews, address feedback, and celebrate successes.
- Culture & Community: Maintain a positive, joyful environment, support diversity, equity, and inclusion, and achieve triad best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- M.D., D.O., A.P.N. or P.A. graduate.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (M.D./D.O.) or Family, Adult, or Gerontology (A.P.N.).
- 5+ years of outpatient practice experience (preferred).
- Experience in clinical leadership, coaching providers, and using metrics to drive quality.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and ability to manage ambiguity.
- Commitment to older adults and low‑income patients.
- Comfort with executive collaboration and strategic initiatives.
- US work authorization.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $174,070–$374,920 (base salary depends on experience, location, and other factors).
