Be part of a company where your work supports a mission that makes a difference—apply today!OverviewThis position is primarily responsible for the set-up/operation of various types of machine shop equipment inclusive of, but not limited to, manual and CNC Engine Lathes, Bridgeports and Grinders to produce complex tools, fixtures and diversified products in a safe, effective/efficient manner to meet operational requirements. This expertise will be applied in a proactive manner utilizing best practices when conducting documentation review, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, equipment set-up/operation and component inspection related activities. The incumbent must be an individual who can multi-task and perform various machine shop related activities which are to be conducted in a manner that complies with company requirements (i.e., regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). This position requires effective interaction with a broad spectrum of people within the organization to successfully support operations and the corporate strategic vision.Skills/Experience5+ years of related experience involving set-up/operation of precision (high tolerance), machine shop equipment (Aerospace mfg. environment preferred)High School/(GED) Diploma or Vocational/Technical school equivalentSelf-motivated individual who possesses the ability to analyze, organize, plan, multi-task and achieve results through effective interaction with othersPossess math skills required to effectively and efficiently read, interpret documents (i.e., blueprints/technical drawings, operation/tool/set-up sheets, procedures, ECN's, routers, etc.). Ability to interpret various types of graphs and data used in problem solving, SPC, monitoring of performance metrics, etc.Demonstrate effective verbal/written communication skills required for interacting with all levels of personnel within the organizationAbility to set-up and operate machine shop equipment in a effective, efficient, safe and consistent mannerKnowledgeable in the areas of Lean Manufacturing concepts, employee training, GT&D practices, interpretation of machine shop documentation (blueprints, ECN's, operation/tooling sheets, routers, etc.), inspection methods, effective utilization of measuring equipment/instruments, root cause investigations, troubleshooting, and performance metricsConsistently demonstrate commitment to company values, strategic plan and visionMust demonstrate creative thinking as it relates to machine shop, inspection and assembly and test fixture manufacture and design input.Must be a US CitizenAdditional Duties / ResponsibilitiesBring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements.Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organizationActively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goalsAssist in the training of personnel to perform required technical tasks (as directed)Consistently demonstrate commitment to company valuesKeep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibrationThis job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.This is a full-time position;Overtime and weekend work may be required, as job duties demand.No travel is expected for this positionPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feelSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.The employee is regularly required to stand at length (7-8 hours, daily), sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility.The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 70 lbs.Attractive Work Schedule: 4-Day Work Week – Monday-Thursday (6:00AM-4:30PM) This position is at our Montville, NJ corporate offices location. Pay Rate: $29 - 34/hour
