Travel Nurse RN - OR (Operating Room) Fusion Medical Staffing - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse Registered Nurse for an Operating Room assignment in Boston, Massachusetts. The assignment is 13 weeks, 12‑hour evening shifts, 36 hours per week. Position Details Location: Facility in Boston, Massachusetts. Start Date: 07/13/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Hours: 36 hours per week (12‑hour evening shifts). Employment Type: Travel. Responsibilities Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready. Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery and maintains patient comfort and safety. Maintains a sterile field and follows infection control protocols throughout surgical procedures. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly. Monitors the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes, and notifying the surgeon. Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper sterilization and disposal. Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport accurately. Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting. Participates in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases. Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases following turnover protocols. Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards. Follows hospital safety rules, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN. Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Preferred Qualifications ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications. OR Nursing Certification (CNOR). Other certifications or licenses may be required. Required Skills Critical thinking and service excellence. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in English. PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment 50–100 lbs, push, pull, bend. Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel with a positive attitude. Technical skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, movement during procedures. Mental: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration on details.
