The Field Service Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial water treatment and process equipment at assigned customer and project sites. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, piping, filtration systems, reverse osmosis and membrane equipment, chemical-feed systems, instrumentation, and related support equipment. The Maintenance Technician works independently on assigned tasks, partners with Field Service Technicians and Area Supervisors, and helps keep systems safe, reliable, and operating to customer and MPW standards.

What You’ll Bring

• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience repairing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial, commercial, construction, water treatment, or process equipment.
• Working knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, piping, filtration equipment, chemical-feed systems, and basic electrical or control components.
• A safe, dependable, and detail-oriented work style with the ability to diagnose problems and follow issues through to resolution.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, basic drawings, work orders, maintenance instructions, and operating data.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work productively with customers, coworkers, vendors, and leadership.
• Ability to prioritize work, document completed maintenance, and manage changing field conditions with limited supervision.

What You’ll Do

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and repairs on industrial water equipment and related systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues involving pumps, motors, piping, valves, tanks, filtration, reverse osmosis, membranes, chemical dosing, and monitoring equipment.
• Disassemble, clean, rebuild, install, align, and test mechanical components and equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and MPW procedures.
• Support the installation, startup, modification, relocation, and shutdown of industrial water treatment and process systems.
• Monitor system performance and operating conditions; identify unusual sounds, leaks, vibration, pressure, flow, water quality, or other indicators of equipment problems.
• Assist with calibration, inspection, and maintenance of meters, sensors, analyzers, pumps, controls, and other testing or monitoring equipment.
• Complete work orders, maintenance records, inspection forms, service reports, parts requests, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain parts, tools, vehicles, and work areas in an organized condition and communicate parts or equipment needs before they affect operations.
• Follow chemical handling, lockout/tagout, confined-space, fall-protection, electrical-safety, PPE, and other applicable safety requirements.
• Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to Field Service Technicians when assigned, while escalating complex, recurring, or high-risk issues to the Area Supervisor.
• Communicate professionally with customer contacts regarding work completed, equipment condition, site needs, and any operational concerns.
• Participate in training and share practical maintenance knowledge that improves equipment reliability, safety, and field-service performance

What You’ll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, military training, or related coursework preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in equipment maintenance, industrial maintenance, water treatment, wastewater, environmental services, manufacturing, utilities, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with industrial water equipment, reverse osmosis, filtration, chemical systems, pumps, or process equipment is highly preferred.
• Basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, or fabrication experience is helpful.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and nontraditional hours when operational needs require it.
• Ability to travel to customer and project sites, including overnight travel when necessary.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, lift, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around chemicals, noise, water, confined areas, elevated work areas, and required PPE.
• Ability to lift and move tools, hoses, parts, and equipment as required to complete assigned work
