About the Role:
The Conventional Machinist & Assembly position is crucial in the manufacturing process, focusing on the precision machining and assembly of components to meet high-quality standards. The primary end result of this role is to ensure that all machined parts are produced accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall production goals of the company. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of machining processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other team members. The machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating various conventional machining equipment, ensuring that all safety and quality protocols are followed. Ultimately, the success of this role directly impacts the quality of the final products delivered to our customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a machinist, with a strong understanding of conventional machining processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certification in machining or a related field.
- Experience with CNC machinery and programming.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate conventional machining equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Perform quality checks on machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Assemble machined components into final products, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include proficiency in operating conventional machining equipment, which is essential for producing high-quality components. Attention to detail is critical, as machinists must ensure that all parts meet precise specifications through careful measurement and inspection. The ability to read blueprints and technical drawings is utilized daily to guide machining operations and assembly processes.
