Our organization is a community hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-focused endocrinology services. We offer thorough management for a diverse range of endocrine disorders, including type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes, as well as thyroid issues and other related conditions. Our approach incorporates the latest diabetes technologies, such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), alongside evidence-based treatments and a multidisciplinary support system.

We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to become a part of our Endocrine team. The selected candidate will provide outpatient care, oversee diabetes and thyroid disease management, initiate and follow up on diabetes technology, educate patients, and work closely with endocrinologists, obstetricians (for gestational diabetes), nutritionists, and diabetes specialists.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough evaluations and create personalized treatment plans for diabetes (type 1, type 2, gestational) and thyroid disorders. Initiate and manage insulin therapy, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) as well as other patient care within the scope of practice.

• Deliver diabetes self-management education and support to patients.

• Coordinate care with specialists in endocrinology, obstetrics, nephrology, cardiology, and primary care.

• Perform patient assessments, complete physical examinations, gather clinical data including vital signs, collect specimens, prepare patients for tests or treatments, order and interpret lab results, diagnose medical conditions, administer medications or treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures.

• Possess knowledge of the necessary information and techniques for diagnosis and treatment, including symptoms, treatment options, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Master's degree program for Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners.

• Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is preferred; candidates should be willing to obtain this certification within a specified timeframe if not already certified.

• Ability to quickly learn and navigate a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system.

• Must present a professional demeanor and gain the trust of others.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Must adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.

• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required upon hire.
