Description Work Location is 2050 S. Jefferson Street, Perry Florida Primary Functions: Under the direct supervision of the District Manager, the Retail Store Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations of an assigned retail location. This includes overseeing the processing, merchandising, inventory rotation, and sales of donated goods, while ensuring compliance with Goodwill's established policies and procedures. The Retail Store Manager provides hands-on leadership to the team, fostering a positive, customer-focused culture and developing staff through coaching, accountability, and example-setting. The Retail Store Manager is accountable for meeting production quotas/KPI's, maintaining proper staffing levels, and driving team performance to support consistent product flow and sales. This role is responsible for maintaining a store environment that is consistently fresh, friendly, full, organized, clean, and safe. The Retail Store Manager plays a critical role in motivating and supervising team members to perform at their highest level, identifying and providing training needs, and ensuring operational goals are achieved through strong collaboration, excellent service, and day-to-day execution. Must be able to demonstrate good judgment in recognizing items appropriate for sale or items going to the Outlet
Able to work with minimal supervision
Able to follow instructions and comply with policies and procedures
Able to maintain good relationships with co-workers
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some holidays
Must have dependable transportation
Flexibility and willingness to learn Qualifications: High School degree or equivalent
Some college preferred; 4-6 years of related training or experience in lieu of degree
Supervisory experience of at least one year Physical Requirements: While performing this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch or crawl, talk and hear. Most activities involve repetitive upper body movement and bending. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (unless otherwise restricted)
Must have good hand-eye coordination
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Typical Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, but works primarily indoors and/or at facility entrance; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
While performing this job, the employee may be exposed to some hazardous waste dust and dirt
While performing this job, will possibly be working alongside and/or managing others with social, mental, and emotional disabilities. As well as barriers such as, social economic statuses, education, and justice involved.
- Operations: Perform all procedures necessary to meet or exceed the weekly sales and production quota for the store
- Sort and select for sale all donated merchandise, display merchandise in an eye-catching and pleasing manner and assure that old goods are removed on a scheduled rotation
- Process customer sales, credits, refunds, etc.
- Report facility maintenance issues
- Approve volunteer hours of community service workers
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the store Interview applicable employees
- Prepare sales reports and deposits following proper procedures
- Responsible for making all final management decisions of designated retail location
- Supervision: Responsible for the supervision of staff, including, but not limited to interviewing; planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with Goodwill's policies and applicable laws
- Provide training to new hires and conduct ongoing training to ensure all staff are familiar with store procedures
- Responsible for completing necessary employment paperwork and communicating changes to Recruitment and Payroll in a timely manner
- Create daily and weekly work schedules and assignments to maintain effective operations within labor budget
- Other: Ensure that all applicable safety procedures are followed consistently, and that staff receive regular safety training;
- Report accidents/injuries and safety concerns to the appropriate safety staff within 24 hours
- Maintain all employee records and confidentiality Comply with and ensure employees comply with Goodwill's policies and procedures, including performing assigned duties within the framework of our Guiding Principles
- Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record
- Attend Monthly Leadership meetings and all required trainings Perform other duties as assigned
