Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in an emergency setting, demonstrating strong clinical skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: 1 year in an emergency room setting
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Expected to work some holidays

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room
• Bed Capacity: 17 beds, can flex to 22 with hallway beds
• Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Common Diagnoses: Stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health
• On Average, Patients Treated Daily: 66
• Psych Patient Rooms: 4 designated rooms for psychiatric patients

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments, planning, and interventions in an emergency setting.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage acute and chronic medical issues.
• Administer medications and therapies as ordered by the physicians.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient triage, if qualified by experience.
• Supervise and support the work of emergency department technicians and support staff.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS
• Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year in an emergency room setting; behavioral health experience preferred.
