Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Varied 12-Hour Day/Evening Shifts (Rotating) | On-Call Required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a sterile field; inspect sterile items for contamination prior to opening
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs before each case begins and assure all equipment is functioning prior to use
• Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions
• Scrub all surgical procedures, understanding the special needs, techniques, and requirements of individual surgeons; ability to scrub specialty surgeries — including sports medicine and trauma — without the presence of a sales representative
• Assist the RN with completion of operative charges and recording of hardware used during procedures
• Collect specimens and cultures by verifying source and correct tissue identification with the surgeon

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Minimum of one year of experience in an operating room as a Surgical Technician, or equivalent Surgical Technician training
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Surgical Technician certification, or eligibility for certification
• Experience scrubbing specialty procedures such as sports medicine and trauma cases
• Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and collaborative skills
