The Health Technician provides administrative and clinical support for the delivery of acute and non - acute direct patient care in the Outpatient Lab. Qualifications To qualify for this position - applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement - 10/02/2026. Individual Occupational Requirement: Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists - speech pathologists - medical officers - and optometrists. Therefore - technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge - methods - and techniques of the position to be filled. Specialised Experience: Do you possess at least one (1) full year of specialised experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) Specialised experience includes - Obtains - labels at the patient's bedside and sends laboratory specimens as ordered according to policy and procedure - Uses knowledge of human anatomy to provide first aid and patient care - Verbally reports and/or documents in the medical record observations of and the treatment given to the patient to insure accurate records and quality of patient care - using standard nomenclature and approved forms. Preferred Experience: Previous experience in Phlebotomy preferred. Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred. Physical Requirements: The work requires the HT to be mobile throughout the Emergency Department and medical center as needed - involving standing - walking - bending - pushing - and lifting (moderately heavy). The HT should be capable of prolonged standing/walking and be physically capable of pushing equipment - wheelchairs and patient stretchers. Proper lifting and body mechanics must be utilized at all times to prevent injury.
