For more information, please visit About This Opportunity Role Profile Position: Field Service Technician Job Location: Wheeling, WV Job Type: Full-Time Status: Non-Exempt Summary of the Role Seeking an entry‑level Conveyor Belting Technician who is mechanically inclined. Performs splices and installation on various types of conveyor belts and components to meet customer and industry requirements. Performs other field service and warehouse tasks, as trained and required. Reports to Field Service Supervisor or Manager. Responsibilities Maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures Work closely with Field Service Supervisors and team members in attaining goals and objectives Have a good understanding of overall quality processes and documentation Communicate general and quality‑related concerns to management Provide onsite customer service Perform conveyor belt installation with mechanical or vulcanized splice Understand tools and machinery applicable to the job Travel is required as part of the job Perform other duties as trained and qualified Skills and Abilities Must be able to work overtime hours, evenings and weekends when required Must be able to travel to out‑of‑town jobs, as needed Possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers and team members in a professional manner Basic mechanical skills including the use of hand tools Basic computer skills including internet and e‑mail Must be able to apply OSHA standards and MSHA standards as applicable (training will be provided) Minimum Qualifications Be at least 21 years of age Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Have a high school diploma/GED Reliable transportation is a must Be able to work independently Ability to safely drive a company truck Ability to work overtime as required Ability to work nights and weekends as required Basic math skills Properly measure with a tape measure Ability to travel on a regular basis Background checks, drug screening, and a physical may be required by the company, customer or DOT requirements in working on‑site and operating equipment as required or permitted by law Must be able to successfully pass a DOT physical exam, or have a current DOT medical card Preferred Qualifications Experience working with conveyors and conveyor components Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience Mechanically inclined Knowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery a plus OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications First aid and CPR certifications Physical Requirements and Work Environment This role may include a mix of customer onsite work and warehouse floor environments. Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow, rain, and wind. Ability to pull, push, grasp, bend, lift and carry up to 50lbs independently on a repeated basis. Heavier items may be moved with team assistance or mechanical aid. Ability to work at varying work‑surface levels and machine operation heights. Ability to move above or below workstations or retrieve items from various heights. Ability to read, write and communicate in English Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, inventory sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to count and measure accurately. Ability to properly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools. Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day. Ability to inspect products for wear, damage, and leaks. Ability to respond to safety signals, alarms, and verbal instructions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, hearing protection, or hard hats, depending on the task or site conditions.
