This hybrid role is located in our Waltham MA location. Job PurposeNational Grid is seeking a Lead Project Manager, Gas Capital Project Delivery to lead the successful execution of capital projects within our LNG portfolio across New England. As the energy landscape continues to evolve, we are committed to driving innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence while meeting the needs of our customers.In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for complex LNG capital projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. You will work collaboratively across Engineering, Operations, Asset Management, and external stakeholders to support the continued reliability and growth of our gas infrastructure.Key AccountabilitiesLead cross-functional project teams to successfully deliver LNG capital projects that support the safe and reliable distribution of natural gas throughout New England.Manage all phases of LNG projects, including new facility development, system upgrades, and major modifications, while maintaining control of project scope, schedule, and budget.Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability among internal departments, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to maximize project performance and resource utilization.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, safety requirements, permitting obligations, and National Grid standards.Maintain comprehensive oversight of project documentation, contracts, schedules, and financial reporting, and provide regular project updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.Negotiate and administer contract change orders with engineering firms, contractors, and vendors, ensuring appropriate review, approval, and documentation.Promote project management best practices and serve as a subject matter expert by providing guidance and support to peers and project teams.Interface with regulatory agencies, local municipalities, and other external stakeholders to support project approvals and successful execution.Leadership and Interpersonal RequirementsBuild and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, consultants, regulatory representatives, and municipal officials.Demonstrate strong leadership, integrity, accountability, and sound decision-making skills.Exhibit initiative and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.Foster a positive and inclusive team environment focused on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering required.Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, engineering, and construction management required.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or MBA preferred.Demonstrated success leading complex capital projects from planning and initiation through execution, commissioning, and closeout.Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance competing schedule, budget, quality, and operational objectives.Strong background in project scheduling, budgeting, risk management, project controls, and contract administration.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.Experience negotiating contracts, change orders, and project agreements while maintaining scope, schedule, and budget targets.Knowledge of LNG facilities, gas operations, and applicable industry regulations and standards.Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.Valid driver’s license required.Salary$148,000 - $173,000 a yearNational Grid will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position now or in the future.
