Physician - OBGYN Faculty

Job Details FTE: 1.0, Shift: Variable, Schedule: Variable Join our established faculty OBGYN group with a practice complement of 0.6 private clinic and 0.4 FTE teaching of Family Practice residents and fellows. Deliveries are performed at Tacoma General Hospital, a tertiary referral center and the region’s largest, most advanced NICU. Full‑time equals 1800 hours, including 40 24‑hour laborist shifts and 67 10‑hour clinic/OR/teaching shifts. Position Summary The Physician Faculty‑OBGYN is responsible for both the education of Family Medicine fellows & residents and the delivery of high‑quality OBGYN care to a panel of patients. The physician must be proficient in outpatient and inpatient settings, serve as a model of professionalism and an excellent mentor, and be a master adaptive learner. Time will be split between direct patient care and teaching & curricular work. Responsibilities Ensure comprehensive OBGYN care for a patient panel, including risk assessment, pre‑ and post‑natal care, management of labor & delivery, and surgical procedures Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions using evidence‑based guidelines Refer to specialists appropriately Participate in hospital rounding and clinic coverage for colleagues per departmental guidelines Participate in after‑hours call coverage and labor deck coverage per departmental guidance Maintain timely and accurate documentation, inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care Lead a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care Education & Mentoring Train and mentor fellows & residents in both outpatient and inpatient settings Participate in the regular evaluation of fellows & residents Collaborate with other faculty to develop program curriculum Create a culture of excellence, professionalism, and scholarly focus Participate in the recruitment of new fellows Engage in individual and team scholarly activities Other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Medical Director Professionalism & Citizenship Demonstrate MultiCare values of respect, integrity, stewardship, excellence, collaboration, kindness, and joy Adhere to MultiCare policies, guidelines and procedures Model exemplary professionalism at all times Requirements Unrestricted Washington State medical license by the time of employment Board certified/eligible in OBGYN DEA, NPI, and state prescriptive authority by the time of employment At least 1 yr of teaching experience in a residency/fellowship environment (GME) or other medical teaching environment (UME) preferred Clinically active in OBGYN preferred Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association What We Have to Offer Competitive compensation package with potential sign‑on and relocation Excellent benefits: medical, dental, annual leave, CME, retirement, and malpractice insurance (including tail) Generous time off to support work/life balance Wellness program including dedicated mental health services and leadership and wellness coaching Live in the Pacific Northwest with breathtaking water, mountain, and forest views at every turn Pay and Benefit Expectations Competitive salary with a stated pay range of $462,221.00 – $462,221.00 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certifications.
