Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position with 1-to-1 patient ratios in a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Hospital Surgical Services unit with a 13-week assignment
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• May float to an outpatient surgical center
• On-call required 1x per week with a 1 weekend per 6-week rotation
• Patient ratio of 1:1
• Epic EMR system used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• BLS certification required
• Washington compact state license required in hand at time of submission; license required if applicable
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center setting within a teaching hospital
• Support a wide range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, and ENT procedures
• Maintain aseptic technique, proper equipment documentation, and adherence to laser and radiation safety protocols
• Perform specimen handling/labeling and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submission
• Two supervisory references required, covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• Former Providence employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel contractor and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• No fee for parking
