Senior ML Engineer, Agent Platform

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking someone with formal training or certification in software engineering and at least 5 years of applied experience
• We need hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production platforms, runtimes, or distributed systems
• We require advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, with strong Python skills and a systems language such as Go or Rust for performance-sensitive runtime work
• We value demonstrated experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to define expectations for validating AI-generated output for correctness, performance, and security
• We expect a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security standards
• We are looking for experience building or operating LLM and agent systems in production, including tracing, evaluations, and guardrails
• We need proficiency across all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• We require advanced understanding of agile practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• We seek demonstrated proficiency with software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
• We value in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems
• We expect practical cloud-native experience, with production Kubernetes experience required

• We own the end-to-end architecture of the NEO agent runtime, including secure execution and isolation, agent-to-agent communication, MCP tooling, memory, and evaluation infrastructure
• We design, develop, and troubleshoot software creatively, going beyond routine approaches to solve complex technical problems
• We produce secure, high-quality production code, review and debug code from others, and establish code and design standards used across NEO teams
• We drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes while maintaining consistent validation standards and promoting reusable patterns
• We apply and shape the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation
• We identify and automate recurring remediation opportunities to improve platform stability and the reliability of the agents running on it
• We define a permission-aware, auditable execution model for the runtime, including fine-grained authorization and runtime policy so agents can operate safely in a regulated environment
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and fit within existing systems and information architecture
• We lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of emerging technologies, and we mentor Lead and senior engineers
