Role Summary In this role, you will be a member of Rivian's Technical Program Management team, responsible for driving programs in the Commercial Technology team. You will partner with product, design and software engineering, and other cross-functional teams to drive software development in consumer and employee facing products. This role will require deep collaboration from various stakeholders from concept to production, requiring strong partnerships with engineering, and other teams.
Responsibilities
Pay Disclosure The salary range for this role is $167,400 to $209,300 for Palo Alto, CA based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26, including but not limited to paid vacation, paid sick leave, and a competitive portfolio of insurance benefits including life, medical, dental, vision, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance to eligible employees. Responsibilities
- As a Technical Program Manager at Rivian, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary software projects from start to finish, managing multiple critical software workstreams embedded software development.
- You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company.
- You will work with a team of software and hardware engineers on multiple high-visibility consumer-facing products.
- Drive the planning and implementation of program and features with the cross-functional teams to hit roadmap goals, tracking progress, analyzing risks, resolve execution issues and communicating status.
- Develop and manage program schedules, technical issues, release management and resource needs with engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Manage communication of progress/status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones, own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams
- Implement process improvements to streamline product development and continuously manage risks.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- 7+ years of experience in program management, product management, engineering or similar cross-functional role
- Track record of launching consumer facing software products
- Proficiency with bug/task tracking software tools, especially Jira.
- Ability to adapt processes to the team composition and be time-efficient with planning and status reporting.
- Passion for and demonstrated proficiency in working with cross-functional software teams.
- Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
- Understands how to accelerate development pace while balancing technical quality and product/design scope
- Time-efficient with use of meetings and asynchronous communication to drive decisions and next steps.
- Ability to travel as needed
