You will also become part of a values-driven, compassionate, and fun-loving team that genuinely cares about one another and the patients we serve.About the RoleNEWCC is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care to children and families.This position requires a provider with strong pediatric clinical experience who is comfortable practicing with a high degree of independence while collaborating with NEWCC's multidisciplinary healthcare team. The ideal candidate will bring sound clinical judgment, confidence in pediatric assessment and treatment, and the ability to recognize when consultation, referral, or a higher level of care is appropriate.This is a meaningful opportunity for an experienced provider who values relationship-based care and wants to make a difference for children and families who may experience financial, social, cultural, or other barriers to healthcare.What You'll DoProvide comprehensive pediatric primary and preventive care, including health histories, physical examinations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.Develop individualized plans of care that recognize the unique medical, social, cultural, and financial circumstances of our patients and families.Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions within the scope of pediatric advanced practice.Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with Wisconsin law and professional practice standards.Order, review, and follow up on laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.Provide age-appropriate preventive care, health education, anticipatory guidance, and support to patients and caregivers.Coordinate referrals and connect patients and families with specialty care and community resources when additional services are needed.Perform procedures appropriate to the provider's training, experience, and scope of practice.Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.Collaborate with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to promote continuity and quality of care.Communicate compassionately and effectively with children, families, colleagues, community partners, students, and others involved in patient care.Provide culturally responsive care to patients and families from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.Participate in quality improvement, organizational initiatives, staff meetings, and community outreach activities.Maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, continuing education, and competencies.Provide care at other NEWCC locations or community-based settings as organizational and patient needs require.What We're Looking ForEducation & LicensureMaster's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.Current, unrestricted Wisconsin Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber licensure/credentialing as required for the position.Current national certification appropriate to the pediatric patient population served.Prescriptive authority and required pharmacology education in accordance with Wisconsin requirements.Current BLS certification or ability to obtain as required by NEWCC.Experience & SkillsPrevious Nurse Practitioner experience providing pediatric care required.Strong pediatric assessment, diagnostic, and clinical decision-making skills.Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate and manage common acute and chronic pediatric conditions and provide preventive and well-child care.Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and appropriately determine when consultation, specialty referral, or a higher level of care is needed.Experience in pediatric primary care, family practice, community health, or a similar outpatient setting strongly preferred.Confidence working with a high degree of professional autonomy while remaining collaborative and engaged with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.Commitment to caring for underserved and medically vulnerable children and families.Ability to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care to patients and families from diverse backgrounds.Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and clinical documentation skills.Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.Why NEWCC?At NEWCC, your work has purpose.
