SUMMARY: The Tool and Die Technician is responsible for disassembling and reassembling injection molds for preventative maintenance purposes:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

• Operate overhead crane up to 40 Tons, forklift, milling machine, and horizontal lathe, surface grinder, powered hand tools.

   

• Operate TIG welder:

  ·       Requires coordination between both hands and a foot

  Operate dry-ice blasting equipment:

  ·       requires use of both hands at same time

  Disassemble and reassemble injection molds for preventative maintenance purposes:

  ·       May need to lift up to 50 pounds

  ·       Disassembly requires use of various hand tools, including pneumatic and electric powered tools/

  ·       Working and troubleshooting electrical issues with the molds, up to 240 volts.

  ·       Needs good problem- solving skills when faced with issues during PM process

  ·       On feet for the duration of the shift

  ·       Need to have the ability to climb and enter an injection molding machine which may entail working on a 3 to 6 foot step ladder

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Must have high school diploma and previous automotive experience.
