Medical Assistant – 2nd ShiftPyramid Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality medical and residential treatment services.This position plays an important role on the multidisciplinary treatment team by supporting medical services, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), client monitoring, specimen collection, documentation, and other medical-related activities.The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a behavioral health or substance use treatment environment.What You'll DoSupport medical and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services through client monitoring, observations, and medical support activitiesObtain and document vital signs, capillary blood sugars, urine specimens, and other medical information as directedReport significant changes in client condition, medical concerns, or treatment needs to appropriate clinical or nursing staffConduct toxicology screening activities, including specimen collection, documentation, processing, and communication of results to the treatment teamObserve and document medication dispensing activities as assigned and in accordance with organizational proceduresAssist with admissions documentation, records collection, and coordination of required medical informationMaintain unit inventory and assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medical suppliesAssist with client education, medical questions, appointment follow-up, and treatment engagement activitiesCollect and document client payments in accordance with organizational proceduresCollaborate with treatment team members to support client care, communication, and continuity of servicesMaintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with all company and client informationComplete all required training as designated by Pyramid Healthcare and applicable accreditation/licensing entitiesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required or Active certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required in lieu of GED or DiplomaExperience working in a drug and alcohol, behavioral health, healthcare, or residential treatment setting preferredPrevious Medical Assistant experience preferredCurrent CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThe successful candidate will demonstrate:Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to establish and maintain professional and therapeutic relationships with clientsAbility to gather, document, and communicate medical and treatment-related information accuratelyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to recognize and appropriately respond to medical concerns and crisis situationsStrong time-management and multitasking abilitiesAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismAbility to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment teamWork EnvironmentThis position operates in residential treatment, healthcare, behavioral health, and medication-assisted treatment environments.Employees may interact with individuals experiencing substance use disorders, mental health concerns, withdrawal symptoms, medical conditions, and crisis situations.The role may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, communicable illnesses, toxicology specimens, and emotionally sensitive situations. Employees are expected to follow all applicable safety, infection-control, and organizational procedures.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to talk and hear and regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to handle objects, equipment, and medical supplies, and reach with hands and arms.The employee may occasionally be required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch.
