Associate Director, Scientific Communications – Hematology Oncology Location: Horsham, Pennsylvania, United States. In this role, you will collaborate with the Director of Scientific Communications to develop, disseminate, and amplify strategic scientific communications for one or more hematology/oncology products. You will supervise medical communications vendors, provide review and hands‑on writing support, and manage the overall quality and consistency of publications, presentations, and education materials. Key Responsibilities Serve as a scientific lead for assigned assets within the Hematology Oncology therapeutic area, providing editorial, scientific, and strategic expertise. Develop and execute strategic publication and communication plans in collaboration with cross‑functional team members (Medical, Real‑World Evidence, Statisticians, etc.). Integrate medical, real‑world evidence, including health economics, into the scientific communication strategy. Review draft publications, MSL materials, and digital medical education content for accuracy, consistency, and scientific validity. Prepare and deliver high‑quality publications, presentations, and abstracts; manage review timelines and content quality. Facilitate discussions on amplification and dissemination of published data, contributing to the broader communication strategy. Lead development and execution of innovative scientific communications (interactive PDFs, infographics, podcasts, and novel digital media) with vendor support. Coordinate development, review, and approval of reactive and proactive materials for the MSL team, including talking points and interactive infographics. Manage vendor expectations, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects stay on process and timeline constraints. Build relationships with internal collaborators and external investigators/authors. Guide and train cross‑functional team members and external vendors on processes, SOPs, and standard methodologies; coach junior colleagues. Qualifications Doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or DO) with 6–8 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 8–10 years of related pharmaceutical work experience. In‑depth knowledge of medical writing and publication guidelines (GPP 2022, ICMJE, ICH, GCP, AMA). Experience in medical communications vendor management. Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, management, and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work across cross‑functional environments and partner with scientists, clinicians, and vendors. Highly motivated, organized, self‑starter with a proven record of achievements. Proficiency in Word, Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Professional, and Veeva. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of publication strategy and planning experience in a pharmaceutical, CRO, or vendor setting. Knowledge of the hematology‑oncology therapeutic area. Working Conditions Position is based in Horsham, PA; 3 days a week onsite; may require up to 20% travel. Compensation Base salary range: $137,000 to $235,750. Eligible for annual performance bonus per company policy.
