Job Title

Travel RN – Interventional Care Unit (IVCU) / Stepdown

Location

Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement in 4-week blocks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-procedural nursing care for cardiac patients including STEMI, NSTEMI, PCI, and post-cath lab recovery with groin or radial access management
• Manage patients with complex cardiac and pulmonary conditions including CHF, COPD, chest pain rule-out, chest tubes, hi-flow oxygen, and BiPAP
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures including Pericardiocentesis, Thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomy care, pacemaker management, and CIWA protocol
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech Expanse electronic health record system
• Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, hi-flow devices, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps, Hoyer lifts, and bladder scanners
• Participate in bedside shift rounds, handoff communication, and patient experience initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia (VA) RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an acute hospital setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an Interventional Care Unit, PCU, stepdown, or cardiac specialty unit
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse documentation platform
• Experience with post-operative nursing care in a cardiac or procedural setting
