About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years of Stepdown experience License: Michigan nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Proficiency in Cardiac Comfortability with EKG Willingness to float to similar units Description: The Registered Nurse uses clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The RN is a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit, caring for a large volume of cardiology patients annually. Procedures include PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. Patients post-open heart surgery are also discharged from this unit, requiring specialized care. The unit provides care for patients with congestive heart failure and performs electrophysiology studies. There is ongoing involvement in national clinical trials managed by our research department. The unit has received awards recognizing its commitment to optimal outcomes and exceptional patient care. Leadership, medical staff, and colleagues work collaboratively to demonstrate top performance in care, efficiency, and community value.
