Title: Sales Agronomist III – DEKALB/Asgrow (Iowa) Job Overview We’re hiring a Sales Agronomist in Iowa to serve growers in Calhoun, Greene, Sac, Carroll and Pocahontas. The role focuses on agronomic strategy, product promotion, and business growth, with approximately 60% travel. Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive Bayer portfolio business plan with Field Sales Representatives for the assigned geography, prioritizing ~100 high-growth growers. Build relationships with key growers by providing value-added support, agronomic insights, product selection and placement recommendations. Lead grower demand‑generation plans and support other roles in achieving squad goals. Provide whole‑farm agronomic advice through education, product selection and placement, staying up‑to‑date on research. Drive trials related to the Bayer portfolio with targeted growers. Offer support at key seasonal milestones: crop planning, in‑season product needs, field scouting and harvest monitoring. Collaborate with FSRs, TAs and partners on business planning and influence growers’ objectives. Resolve performance issues and support key grower needs in season, including PPIs and re‑plants. Recommend innovative ways to enhance business results to leadership. Coordinate with peers on programs and issues for alignment and resolution. Track grower account inventory progress, planned activities, and identify new opportunities. Manage an annual SG&A budget and program expenditures. Travel approximately 60% face‑to‑face with customers. Required Qualifications Strong communication and relationship‑building skills. Ability to explain company practices regarding products and initiatives. Strategic thinking using business insights to drive decisions. Digital fluency and data‑driven decision making. Analytical, influential, innovative sales and negotiation skills. Excellent facilitation, presentation, written communication and conflict‑management skills. Capacity to quickly build strategic relationships and influence customer behavior. Strong task management, prioritization and multi‑tasking abilities. Exceptional networking and consultative sales skills. Quick learning and application of agronomic knowledge. Ability to drive for the company under DOT/FMCSA jurisdiction, involving safe hauling of trailers, products, supplies or equipment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or related field. Minimum 8 years relevant agricultural experience in agronomy, technology, sales or marketing. Experience working with sales teams or remote settings. Compensation and Benefits Salary: approximately $90,640 – $135,960 annually. Potential bonus or commission. Health, vision and dental coverage.
