Job Title: Submersible Pump Assembler

Job Description

The 1st Shift Submersible Pump Assembler builds and tests submersible pump units by assembling mechanical components, following technical documentation, and performing quality checks to ensure reliable, high-performing products. This role works closely with production and warehouse teams to meet daily output goals while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work area.

Responsibilities

• Assemble submersible pump components, including motors, shafts, impellers, seals, and other mechanical parts using hand and power tools.
• Interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and written work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent assembly.
• Perform in-process quality checks and functional tests on assembled pumps to verify performance and identify defects.
• Maintain accurate records of assembly work, component usage, and inspection and test results.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and staging components and materials needed for production.
• Collaborate with warehouse and production team members to meet daily production and productivity targets.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to support a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, lean manufacturing practices, and updates to standard work.
• Handle and move materials and components safely and efficiently as part of the assembly process.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of production experience, including meeting productivity goals in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Experience performing basic quality control checks during and after assembly.
• Experience with materials handling in a production or warehouse setting.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures consistently.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any prior experience assembling pumps or similar mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing concepts.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with daily production targets.
• Willingness to support overtime when needed, based on production demands.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
