Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

This role requires working night shifts, three times a week. The facility is a high-risk labor and delivery unit with a significant volume of patients. There are 16 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, and 6 antepartum rooms. The unit also includes 3 operating rooms and has a Level 3 NICU. The average daily census is around 15 patients. We often care for patients with conditions such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiple pregnancies. The facility has resident coverage as it is a teaching hospital. An operating room team is available during the day for scheduled C-sections and add-on cases. In-house anesthesia is available 24/7. External cephalic versions are performed during the day. The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1:2. Every other weekend work is required. No call is required for this position. The documentation system used is EPIC. Lifestyle and adherence to a smoke/nicotine-free environment are expected from all staff.
