San Bruno Skilled Nursing is seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our Director of Nursing in overseeing the delivery of high-quality resident care. This leadership role is responsible for assisting with the management of nursing operations staff development regulatory compliance and clinical excellence within our skilled nursing facility.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) with planning organizing and supervising nursing department activities.
• Support the development implementation and evaluation of nursing policies procedures and clinical programs.
• Participate in recruiting hiring onboarding training and retaining nursing staff.
• Assist with employee evaluations coaching performance management and corrective action when necessary.
• Serve as a resource and backup to the DON RN and LVN teams.
• Provide direct resident care as needed to support clinical operations.
• Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident conditions and ensure quality care standards are met.
• Promote resident safety dignity rights and overall well-being.
• Collaborate with physicians residents families and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Attend and lead nursing department meetings in the absence of the DON.
• Prepare reports and provide recommendations regarding nursing services and operational improvements.
• Assist with the design and implementation of systems that support consistent resident-centered care.
• Coordinate and facilitate ongoing staff education and in-service training programs.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding resident employee and facility information.
• Stay current with federal state and local regulations and communicate updates to staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current and unrestricted California RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing management experience preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
• Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; PCC experience preferred.
• Must maintain required continuing education and licensure requirements.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and clinical operations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with residents families physicians and staff.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand walk sit bend and perform nursing duties throughout the workday.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Frequent use of computers telephones and office equipment.
• Occasional travel may be required.
