Production Fabricator/Welder

Weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, fabrication projects, and plant equipment, according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Assemble, tack-weld, and final-weld metallic frames and other component parts of machinery and equipment. Tend equipment used to cut, bend, turn, mill, and drill to specified lengths and widths per work order. Interpret data to select materials, layout reference points, and sequence operations. Operate metal fabricating machines (shears, saws, brakes, bending machines, and punch and forming presses). Weld, forge, brazes, solder, rivet, or bolt components together. Inspect sheets for defects. Grind, buff, and polish surfaces to desired finish. Lift finished product onto pallets or carriers to appropriate area. Qualifications and Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 1-2 years general welding experience preferred. Six months of experience welding light‑gauge stainless steel preferred. TIG Welding Experience Preferred – Six months of experience welding light‑gauge stainless steel preferred. Necessary Skills Strong organizational skills and detail oriented. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time during a regular workday. Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects. Must be able to climb up and down ladders. Must be able to work while stooped, kneeling, or crouched. Must be able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Will work in manufacturing environment that includes exposure to dirt, heat, noise, odors, vibration, dust, cold, and fumes.
