AI Product Owner
Locations: Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; or New York City, NY - Hybrid - Mostly WFH but must be able to come onsite when needed.

We are seeking multiple AI Product Owners to support enterprise AI initiatives across functional business domains, including HR Operations, Finance, IT Service Management, and Sales Operations.

This role is not a traditional Product Owner position with AI keywords added. We are looking for a visible, business-facing AI Product Owner who understands how AI solution delivery differs from standard software delivery .


The ideal candidate can partner with business stakeholders, translate ambiguous operational needs into prioritized AI product work, and own solutions through delivery, adoption, stabilization, and value realization.

The AI Product Owner will help identify high-value AI use cases, define MVP scope, manage backlogs, write user stories and acceptance criteria, align technical and business teams, and ensure deployed AI solutions are stable, trusted, adopted, and delivering measurable business value.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working in an environment where Agile practices are still maturing. Priorities may shift, requirements may be unclear, and workflows may be reactive. The right candidate can bring practical structure without being rigid or slowing delivery.

Responsibilities:

Own AI-enabled solutions from discovery through MVP, release, adoption, stabilization, and continuous improvement.

Partner with business stakeholders in HR Operations, Finance, IT Service Management, Sales Operations, or related enterprise operations domains.

Translate business needs, workflow pain points, and operational challenges into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog items, and execution-ready requirements.

Prioritize AI use cases and backlog items based on business value, risk, feasibility, adoption potential, operational impact, and stakeholder urgency.

Manage a portfolio of AI initiatives, enhancements, stabilization work, and business requests without losing visibility or momentum.

Work closely with engineering, AI, data, architecture, and business teams to ensure requirements are clear and delivery is aligned to business outcomes.

Serve as a translator between business and technical teams, helping business stakeholders understand AI capabilities while shielding technical teams from unprioritized or unclear requests.

Support AI solution testing, pilot feedback, UAT, rollout, adoption tracking, issue resolution, and post-launch stabilization.

Help define and monitor success metrics such as adoption, time saved, manual effort reduction, accuracy, cycle-time improvement, user satisfaction, cost savings, and operational efficiency.

Communicate progress, risks, tradeoffs, and value realization clearly to functional leaders, technical partners, and executive stakeholders.

Bring structure to ambiguous environments through practical intake, prioritization, backlog management, stakeholder alignment, acceptance criteria, and feedback loops.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Technical Product Owner, or closely related product-focused role in a technology environment.

Experience owning product outcomes, solution delivery, backlogs, roadmaps, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization decisions.

Experience working with AI, GenAI, machine learning, automation, analytics, intelligent workflows, conversational AI, document automation, agentic AI, or data-driven digital solutions.

Strong ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams.

Experience partnering directly with business stakeholders, functional leaders, engineering teams, data teams, AI teams, architects, and delivery teams.

Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams or product initiatives.

Strong understanding that AI products are probabilistic and require validation, monitoring, feedback, and stabilization after release.

Experience driving adoption and measuring business value after a solution goes live.

Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous, or less mature Agile environments.

Strong communication skills and executive presence; must be comfortable being a front-facing Product Owner who can represent progress, risks, tradeoffs, and value to business and technical leaders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Domain experience in one or more of the following areas: HR Operations, Finance Operations, IT Service Management, Sales Operations, enterprise operations, service operations, or internal productivity workflows.

Experience with custom AI solutions, GenAI, LLMs, RAG, conversational AI, AI agents, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, predictive analytics, or AI-enabled decision support.

Experience with tools and platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Workday, SAP, Oracle, Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure AI, AWS AI, Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, or similar technologies.

Experience with AI governance, responsible AI, human-in-the-loop workflows, output validation, confidence thresholds, source traceability, model monitoring, or post-launch AI performance tracking.

Experience working in complex, cross-functional, matrixed enterprise environments.

Experience managing AI or automation initiatives from discovery/pilot through scaled adoption.
