Job Details

• Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery
• Location: Springfield, Ohio 45504
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with floor call/beeper coverage from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Coverage: 24-hour onsite support with floor call or OR call
• Shift Duration: 12-hour any shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,260 to $3,860
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 to 120 days
• EMR: Epic
• Practice Environment: High-acuity inpatient surgical care

Job Requirements

• Board certification in Vascular Surgery required
• Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license required
• Active ACLS certification required
• Active DEA required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery and vascular surgery services required
• Must have a clean background with no malpractice or license issues
• Experience with inpatient hospital-based care preferred
• Ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical setting

Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients
• Assist with emergency cardiothoracic and vascular surgical cases
• Take consults and referrals from the ED, Cath Lab, and other hospital providers
• Assist in surgery, including vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissue for bypass conduit use
• Round on patients and coordinate ongoing care plans
• Interpret tests, order diagnostic testing, and write prescriptions as appropriate
• Document thoroughly in Epic EMR and maintain clear communication across the care team
• Support high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients in a collaborative healthcare team environment
