Job Summary:
The Telemetry Medical Surgical Float Nurse position is based in a healthcare organization within Kansas. This role involves providing patient care across multiple units, including general medical-surgical, cardiovascular, neurological, oncology, renal, and other adult patient populations. The nurse will work night shifts, with the expectation to assist with float rotations within Zone 4, including facilities in and around Garden City, KS.

Job Details:

• Location: 401 E Spruce St, Garden City, KS 67846
• Schedule: Nights, with 11.5 hours per shift, and a minimum of 34.5 hours per week. Schedule is planned 4 to 6 weeks in advance and may involve floating within Zone 4 (including facilities approximately 54 miles away in Ulysses and Dodge City, KS).
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from the American Heart Association, NIHSS certification, valid license to submit, and at least 2 years of recent MS-Telemetry experience.
• Experience or "Must Have" Skills: Prior neuro experience and proficiency with Alaris infusion systems and EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Unit and Patient Care: Float across multiple units including general medical-surgical, cardiology, neurology, oncology, renal, and more. Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 depending on acuity.
• Additional Information: May be required to participate in holiday rotation. The role includes working in various acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele. Self-scheduling is not permitted; scheduling is managed by leadership, and flexibility is expected to support operational needs.
• Other Details: This position entails floating within Zone 4 and being prepared to cover shifts with minimal notice. First float assignment will be communicated on or before the first day of the assignment, starting 07/27/2026.
