Systems Engineer, Sr (Architecture & Design)

Overview Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full‑time Systems Engineer. You will participate in design, development, integration, and testing of new capabilities for several Department of Defense (DoD) products and technologies. You will use and contribute to models of real‑world weapons, radars, and Command & Control systems. Responsibilities You will use model‑based system engineering (MBSE) techniques to define, mature, and maintain system architecture for new and existing capabilities, generating artifacts such as requirements and SysML diagrams. You will independently identify and address system and software defects, demonstrate sound engineering discipline, and decompose complex problems to formulate solutions. Participate in the design, development, integration, and testing of DoD products and technologies. Use and contribute to models of real‑world weapons, radars, and Command & Control systems. Apply MBSE to mature system architecture and develop requirements and SysML diagrams. Identify and resolve system and software defects. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field. Minimum of 5 years of related experience or 3 years with a Master’s Degree. Basic knowledge of MBSE, system architecture definition, system/subsystem design, and requirements development. Basic knowledge of SysML modeling tools such as Rhapsody and Cameo. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level (U.S. citizenship required). Demonstrated ability to perform architecture and design using SysML and modeling tools. Demonstrated ability to perform requirements development, decomposition, and tracing using tools such as DOORS. Demonstrated ability to follow Agile development process. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a collaborative and team‑based environment. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level: Secret.
