Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical) will deliver direct patient care for clients across the medical-surgical continuum, supporting safe, effective clinical outcomes. This role requires skilled assessment, timely interventions, and collaborative care to promote recovery and patient comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' condition and document findings, including vital signs, symptoms, and care responses.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols and medication safety standards.
• Coordinate care plans with physicians, CNAs, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity.
• Perform bedside nursing interventions, including wound care, IV management, and patient education as indicated.
• Monitor for clinical changes and escalate concerns promptly to support timely interventions.
• Maintain accurate charting, follow infection control practices, and adhere to unit safety procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Demonstrate medical-surgical nursing competency with strong clinical assessment skills.
• Possess proficiency in medication administration, documentation, and patient safety practices.
• Apply evidence-based nursing care and critical thinking to manage complex patient needs.
• Maintain current BLS certification (and ACLS as required by practice standards).
• Show the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
